The Watford Weekender has been created by Watford BID, and is brought to you by shops, bars, restaurants and clubs of Watford town centre. Its aim is to encourage more people to visit the town and showcase what the town has to offer. The list of companies involved is extensive and full details of all those running special offers and events (including terms and conditions) can be found online at Watford Weekender.
Jonathan Field, Chair of Watford BID said, “We are really excited to launch our first ‘Watford Weekender’, which brings local businesses together to collectively promote Watford town centre as a great destination for shopping, dining out, leisure and business. We hope the Weekender will become a regular event in the town centre diary, that will grow and grow.”
Those fancying a pampering, can head to Gloss Bar, Watford town centre’s newest nail bar – they are offering 25% off all weekend and launch party activities. Lush, in the Intu Centre, is offering workshops so customers can make their own cosmetic products and John Lewis has a Watford Weekender prize giveaway, worth £450, including personal styling and beauty packages.
Got the kids? Not a problem! Sainsburys is offering face painting all weekend, for a donation of £1 to their local charity, while Natwest has balloons and ice creams. Check out Twisted Monkey’s Family Fun Day on Sunday, where parents can relax with 2-4-1 cocktails all day while the kids make use of our bouncy castles, ball pit and an arts & crafts table. Or head over to Riley’s Sports Bar, where they’re offering free family membership all weekend, complete with free pool session, and Central Leisure Centre for a swim, free to adults and children all weekend.
There are great deals to be had at Watford’s cafés and restaurants. From breakfast deals at Sandwich Box and Quiznos on The Parade, to lunch and dinner discounts at Middletons, Pepe Rosso, Zincos and Bills; and 25% off food all weekend at Walkabout. The Langley Banqueting Suites is running its delicious Curry Club buffet on Saturday from 6pm, with special Watford Weekender prices, while those fancying a sweet treat can supersize their milkshake for free at Creams Café on The Parade, or get 25% off all their delicious ice cream treats all weekend.
Thinking about getting fit? Then head over to the Watford YMCA where their community gym is hosting free taster sessions throughout the weekend. Fitness4Less is waiving the joining fee for memberships taken out as part of the Watford Weekender, while Central Leisure Centre is offering a 50% reduction.
Vibe 107.6 FM will be running a special Watford Weekender competition in the week leading up to the 1st and 2nd October, featuring prizes donated by town centre businesses. More details are to come but make sure you listen in for your chance to win!
