Watford Palace Theatre have launched an online theatre programme, Palace @ Home
An update from the team at Watford Palace Theatre:
"In response to the developing Coronavirus pandemic, Watford Palace Theatre have launched an online theatre programme, Palace @ Home. The programme aims to provide respite, familiarity and enjoyment during a time of self-isolation, and promotes engagement and participation with audiences.
"Palace @ Home is a considered programme of special events, made possible with the support of Arts Council England. Each week, the project will feature new content suitable for all;
"Panto @ Home – weekly video tasks, tips and tricks from the Watford Palace Theatre creative team, encouraging children (and parents!) to create their own pantomime at home.
"Ask A Theatre Professional – providing the opportunity for those interested in the theatre industry to have their questions answered by a bona fide professional.
"Poems @ Home / FamilyPoems @ Home – weekly poetry readings for adults and children alike, read by Julia Watson (Talking Heads, Casualty) and Victoria Brazier (Abigail’s Party, The Secret Garden (York Theatre Royal and Theatre by the Lake)).
"Featured within the programme as bookable events;
"Pint Sized Poetry: Corona Verses - a night of spoken word, comedy and live music from a selection of the UK's most talented and emerging artists on Friday 8 May at 8pm. Spoken word artists and musicians wishing to participate in the event should email a self-tape of their work to sarahhattiekenny@outlook.com by Friday 24 April.
"Class Act – acting workshops run by actors such as Victoria Brazier (Abigail’s Party, The Secret Garden (York Theatre Royal and Theatre by the Lake) and Tina Chiang (Abigail’s Party, Cyrano de Bergerac (Southwark Playhouse)).
"Much more exciting digital content and events will be released over the coming weeks.
"The Palace @ Home programme will be available for all to access via the Watford Palace Theatre website https://www.watfordpalacetheatre.co.uk/news/online-theatre-programme/ and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/watfordpalace/.
"Most of the Palace @ Home events are free, but some ask for a “pay what you can” donation. Watford Palace Theatre recognises this is a difficult time for all, therefore any support patrons can give will be greatly appreciated. All contributions will go towards the theatre and its artists, to enable the continued creation of great work."
