Vibe 107.6 FM EXCLUSIVE interview with Leah McFall!

VIBE 107.6 FM Late Show presenter Will talks to Leah McFall as she reveals she is 'relieved and excited' for the release of her first album.

Singer and songwriter Leah McFall has spoken of her excitement of releasing her first album, despite undergoing a number of trials and tribulations in the last few years.

It was a dream come true for Leah when she entered The Voice UK in 2013. Following her blind audition where she performed a cover of Rita Ora’s hit R.I.P, the singer gained support from millions of people around the world.

And despite being tipped to win the competition, the 27-year-old was beaten by fellow Northern Irish singer Andrea Begley.

In an exclusive interview with VIBE 107.6 FM’s Late Show presenter Will Njobvu, the star confirmed she’s back on the music scene – but this time, releasing records independently.

‘My new album is very personal’. The singer’s involvement in the The Voice UK meant she was tied to contracts that made it hard for her to release music independently. But two years on, she’s back on the radar preparing for the UK tour of her first album ‘INK’ – which she says is “very personal.”

“I’m so excited to share my music. The hardest part of the two years is that I know there’s so many people supporting us but I haven’t been able to meet them,” she told VIBE 107.6 FM. “It’s really exciting and very personal,” she said. The singer went on to say her song Wolf Den is about “breaking off” from contracts and going independent. “We had to keep believing it’s going to happen,” she added.

Leah was lucky enough to have former Black Eyed Peas star Will.I.Am as her mentor on TV talent show. However, she became even luckier when he flew her out to Los Angeles to make music with her soon after she was booted off the talent show.

Will.I.Am ‘took me under his wing’. “Will kind of did more for me than what any other coach has done. He took me under his wing and took me to L.A. to teach me the business,” she told VIBE 107.6 FM.  But sadly for Leah, the records she made with her mentor got dropped at the last minute. “I mourned more than any boyfriend. It was the case of waiting out contracts so I could write in a place of freedom.”

On a happier note, Leah is back with a soulful sounding new album which she’s extremely excited to share with her fans. To buy tickets to see Leah at her tour this April – click here!
