The Five Best TV Shows To Catch This Week (19th - 23rd April 2021)

Good Day VIBE 107.6FM Viewers! A new week is upon us and that calls for a whole host of new shows to delve into. It seems that with the UK coming out of lockdown, we have been expressing ourselves more and more. With this news, more experimentation and adventures are being had on screen. All making this week’s choices super entertaining.

Ackley Bridge, Channel 4, 6pm, Monday 19th April: Head back to school, but at a new time this week. After being shown on TV at 9pm in recent years, Ackley Bridge is moving to a 6pm, 30 minute slot. Set across 10 episodes, this term time is going to be just as gripping though. Mixing the ever present school drama with everyday life, the show is going to be sure to entertain us all when it comes back. 

Mare of Easttown, Sky Atlantic, 9pm, Monday 19th April: Kate Winslet turns detective in this new series. Focusing on solving a new crime, whilst also battling the guilt of an old one, Winslet plays Mare Sheehan. A woman who seeks to uncover the truth in her town. All of which is impacted by the arrival of Guy Pearce’s writer figure, who is new to town. With these two in the show, it is sure to be a powerful watch.

Make-up: A Glamorous History, BBC2, 9pm, Tuesday 20th April: Many of us have had to learn new make-up tips and skills during lockdown. There so, this inside look at how we became so obsessed with the styles we love, will leave you wondering about the items we use. Hosted and featuring the best in the business, this series will go back in time before fast forwarding to what is still to come from the beauty industry.

Second Hand For 50 Grand, Channel 4, 10pm, Wednesday 21st April: We all love a show that will help us make some money and this one is definitely going to do that. A lot of it it seems. Delving into the world of second hand goods in a completely new format, you will be digging out your antiques in no time after watching.

Shadow and Bone, Netflix, 8am, Friday 23rd April: Based on the best-selling books, this series follows an orphan who is sent on a quest to save her world. Learning of the people within it as she goes, the series is a dark and powerful tale of one woman’s quest that will be sure to hook us all in for the ultimate binge-watch.
