Happy Boxing Day! Today is the best day to catch up on all the festive shows you may have missed yesterday. All whilst eating all the yummy leftovers, sweets and chocolates you can. The Castaways, 8am, Paramount+, Boxing Day (Tuesday 26th December): Starring Sheridan Smith, this new series follows two sisters who are both seeking to uncover the truth. When Smith’s character finds herself one of only a few survivors on a deserted island after a tragic planet crash, her sister seeks to find her. Truly gripping TV!

The Lion King (Live-Action Premiere), 5:05pm, BBC One, Boxing Day (Tuesday 26th December): With Seth Rogan, Beyoncé and many more incredible stars lending their voices to the live action version of the hit Disney film, the whole family will want to sit down and watch it. And probably sing along to Hakuna Matata too.

Charles III: The Coronation Year, 6:50pm, BBC One, Boxing Day (Tuesday 26th December): Manage to see the King’s Speech yesterday? Well, this new documentary takes us inside his first year of being king. Surrounding the lead up to his coronation, the show speaks to family members and friends, who like us were intrigued to see history being made.

Vera: The Rising Tide, 8pm, ITV1 and ITVX, Boxing Day (Tuesday 26th December): One of the best British detective’s is back in a new dark mystery that is perfect to watch next to a cosy Boxing Day fire. Do be prepared to sleep with the lights on afterwards. 

Death In Paradise Christmas Special, 9pm, BBC One, Boxing Day (Tuesday 26th December): If you are dreaming of a more sunny themed mystery series than the Christmas special of this hit show is just for you. Discover what the detectives are facing in this new thrilling feature with the last of the Quality Street and mulled wine. 

The Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2023, 9pm, Channel Four, Boxing Day (Tuesday 26th December): Can you remember what happened in January? Will you be able to guess what news story the regular school children will be acting out? Join a whole host of comedians as they take on the biggest quiz of the year.
