Target Smashed at Peace Hospice Care’s First NightLight Walk

Over 700 people took part in Peace Hospice Care’s first NightLight Walk on Saturday 8th July in Cassiobury Park!

The number smashed the participant target and the charity is on track to reach its fundraising target for the event of £65,000.  Money is expected to continue to be raised from the event for a number of weeks.

The NightLight Walk was a 5k route through the park, past the Nature Reserve and along the canal.  Everyone enjoyed Winter in the Sun with a snow zone courtesy of Snow Business.  There was also entertainment along to the way with singing, acrobats, music and fairy princesses.

All participants were given a lantern which, at the end of the route, they placed in a display to create a heart shaped light sculpture in memory of loved ones lost and representing the care given by the Hospice to the local community. Photographs from the event are posted on Peace Hospice Care’s Facebook page.

Ropinder Gill, Director of Fundraising at Peace Hospice Care, said: “Our first NightLight Walk was a very moving event.  We’d like to thank everyone who took part and helped to make a really special evening. It was lovely to see so many people enjoying the walk but, also, remembering their loved ones. Our thanks to headline sponsors DLL for their support with the event and again to everyone who took part.”
