Hertfordshire’s very first women's only boxing club opened this September at West Herts ABC.
Queen Bee Boxing was founded by Nadia Finer and Izzy Kelly, with the aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for women of all ages and abilities. They are both qualified boxing coaches who are dedicated to using boxing as an empowering tool for women.
They will provide all the necessary equipment for beginners, and since they use punching bags, their training is completely safe and appropriate for people of all ages and fitness levels.
Nadia Finer, founder and head coach said : “Boxing has changed our lives for the better. It’s given us confidence and self-belief. It’s helped us fight mental and physical health challenges and now we want to share our sport with as many other women and teenage girls as possible.”
Boxing has proven to have numerous benefits for women's mental and physical health. It is shown to be an outlet for self expression and help release feelings of anxiety and stress.
Izzy Kelly, founder and head coach said : "Boxing isn't just about throwing punches; it's about gaining mental resilience and finding empowerment through physical strength"
According to a recent report by the National Police Chiefs’ Council between 2018 and 2023, there was a 37% increase in violent crimes against women and girls in the UK. Given this dramatic increase the launch of Queen Bee Boxing is extremely important
They are thrilled to be a part of this community and have the opportunity to use sports to promote ideas of empowerment. Queen Bee Boxing is set to open their Hemel branch in the coming weeks.
