Watford BID to auction "unique Graham Taylor memorabilia", with proceeds being donated to local £1.1 million refurbishment project.
It is over two months since the unexpected death, and subsequent funeral of the late Graham Taylor OBE. Alongside his national football achievements, Taylor had a dramatic impact on local football team, Watford FC. Hired in 1977 by Elton John, Taylor helped drive the team from the fourth, to the first division, in only 5 years. Today, Taylor's legacy continues to have an impact on the people of Watford, as eight pieces of memorabilia are be auctioned in support for a local refurbishment project.
Eight boards are being auctioned online in order to raise money for St. Mary's Church, the venue that hosted the funeral of Graham Taylor. The auction, established by Watford BID, has been noted by Kwane Tefe, Chairman of Watford BID, as: "a great way of getting unique Graham Taylor memorabilia into the hands of dedicated Watford FC fans" whilst "enhancing an iconic landmark in Watford Town Centre."
The boards in question are being auctioned on eBay until 7pm this Sunday (09/04/2017). In order to find the boards, simply search 'Graham Taylor' on eBay. All proceeds are planned, with the support of Graham Taylor's family, to be donated to St. Mary's Church. David Brown, Chair of Development and Fundraising at the church, stated: "It's so generous of Graham Taylor's family to donate the proceeds of the auction to the church. We are so grateful."
