Two local charities, have collaborated to launch a thrilling abseil down one of the tallest buildings in Watford
Are you brave enough to step over the edge and abseil down the equivalent of 10 storey's to support patient care in your local NHS hospital?
Raise and One YMCA, have created a 46 metre abseil challenge down One YMCA’S Charter House Hostel in order to raise pertinent funds for the NHS and vulnerable community members.
Reflecting on the important work of the two charities, YMCA, have been serving local communities for over 130 years. Delivering a broad range of programmes in aims of supporting and uplifting those in need. Raise is focused on patient care across the Hertfordshire area.
The action-packed, exciting event will take place Saturday the 10th of June.
If this interests you, why not take part to support the local community. Full training will be provided with places being available through the two charities and participants can choose whether they’d like to fundraise for West Herts Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust or One YMCA.
Emily Theobald, senior fundraising officer at Raise, said:
“We couldn’t be more excited to offer supporters this thrilling opportunity! We are looking for 50 abseilers to go above and beyond for the NHS and help save more lives in our local area.''
Mark Turner, One YMCA chief operating officer, also commented saying:
"If abseiling off the side of a building is my way to play a part in supporting those that need us the most – how could I say no!”
Participants must be 18 years old or over to register, unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian in which case anyone over 14 may take part.
Registration is only a mere £30 (£20 for NHS employees) with a minimum sponsorship of £150 being encouraged.
