Local Watford girl Kaycee-Mae Hodson wants “to be one of those people that raise money to help sick people", so when she heard about Peace Hospice Care’s Watford Colour Run on the 22nd May she said she immediately signed up with her family!
Kaycee-Mae’s mother Amanda Hodson said: “Kaycee-Mae usually makes crafts out of things like: Hama beads, Fimo, necklaces and bracelets and sets up a stall for family and friends to buy them off her. She puts the money in her box and once they're sold she decides what charity to send the money to but the Watford Colour Run will be the biggest thing she’s done so far.”
Amanda continued: “Kaycee-Mae said she would like to do it [the Colour Run] and then her younger brother Tyler-James thought it would be fun too. I think as it’s a family fun day it seemed really appealing to her.”
“We have a target of £500 to raise, which we aren't far off and she gets really excited when I tell her someone has sponsored her. Her friends in her class at school have donated too which is so encouraging for her!” Amanda added.
Alongside, Kaycee-Mae and Tyler-James, Amanda and their aunt will be joining them on the fun run. In addition, they will have family members and friends there to support them on the day and to enjoy all the other activities. Vibe 107.6 FM's very own Rewind presenter, Ben Day and his family will also be taking part!
Peace Hospice Care’s Watford Colour Run is a family friendly 5k fun run where people of all ages are able to take part. If the run is not for you, there will be plenty of other activities to keep everyone entertained with: live music, food stalls, games and rides so whether you’re taking part in the fun run or just coming to watch it will be a great family day out.
If you would like to sign up, go online to the Watford Colour Run and complete the registration form. Alternatively, you can ring 01923 335373 and book your place by phone.
